Indian Coast Guard Day is observed on 1st February every year. The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) is an armed force under the Union of India that is responsible for maintaining the safety of Indian maritime zones, protecting maritime and other national interests therein, as well as handling related issues. This year, India will be observing the 47th Indian Coast Guard Day. Celebrate this day by sending Indian Coast Guard Day Wishes to everyone.

The interim Indian coast guard was established on 1 February 1977 to help with the sea-borne smuggling of goods that were hampering India’s domestic Economy.

The 3 Basic roles of the ICG are safety, environmental protection, and national defense. As a result, ICG resources can not be designed for only one function; they must be capable of multiple functions. The Coast Guard is properly controlled and operated by the Ministry of Defense. The Indian Coast Guard’s current Director General, Virendra Singh Pathania, took over the position when Krishnaswamy Natarajan retired.

The ICG is an armed force of India that protects marine interests and implements marine. This armed force was officially established on 18 August 1978 by the Indian Coast Guard Act.
