Dwarkadheesh Bhagwaan Shree Krishna

There are numerous temples in India dedicated to Lord Krishna, and among these is the Dwarkadhish Temple, situated at Dwarka, on the banks of the Gomti River. This temple at Dwarka is one of the Char Dham And, it is also known by the name ‘Jagat Mandir’. It is believed that Lord Krishna came here from Braj in Uttar Pradesh to build the city. Dwarkadheesh Bhagwaan Shree Krishna Temple

The main door for tourists coming to Dwarka, is the Dwarkadheesh Bhagwaan Shree Krishna Temple (Jagat Mandir), Although is established 2500 years ago by Lord Krishna’s great-grandson, Vajranabh.

About 2 Kilometers away from this temple, there is a temple of his wife Rukmini. Altogether there is a legend behind the separate temples of Lord Krishna and Rukmini.

Once upon a time, Lord Krishna and his consort Rukmini went to meet sage Durvasa. Rukmini gave the invitation to sage Durvaa to visit their palace, which he accepted on one condition.

Never The condition was that Lord Krishna and Rukmini would pull the chariot in which he would come to the palace. Albeit, Lord Sri Krishna and Rukmini accepted this condition without any hesitation.


About Dwarkadheesh Bhagwaan Shree Krishna

Sage Durvasa left for the palace with Lord Krishna and Rukmini. As per the condition, Shri Krishna and Rukmini started pulling the Chariot in which Sage Durvasa was sitting.

After traveling for some distance, Rukmini got tired of pulling the chariot and she felt very thirsty when Shri Krishna understood this, he made a hole in the ground with the thumb of his foot, Though from which water of the Ganga river came out.

Above, with that water, Rukmini quenched her thirst. Anywhere But Sage Durvasa wasn’t happy that Rukmini did not offer him the water first before drinking.

Due to his aggressive nature, he cursed Rukmini But also she will be separated from Shri Krishna. And this is the reason that the temple of Rukmini is at some distance from the temple of Lord Shri Krishna.

Before she wrote a letter containing seven verses to Lord Shri Krishna expressing her feeling. This letter is read daily in front of Rukmini Devi. Janmashtami is the festival celebrated in Dwarkadhish temple. After this, the marriage of Lord Shri Krishna and Rukminiis was also celebrated here as a big celebration.
