Akshardham Mandir Delhi Temple is inspired by and created in memory of HH Yogiji Maharaj (1892-1971 CE). Akshardham Temple was built by Bochasanwasi Shri Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha (BAPS). Basically, the full name of Akshardham Temple is Swaminarayan Akshardham Temple. It is located in Delhi, India.

This Akshardham Mandir Delhi  temple was built according to the Pancharatra and Vastu Shastra. The exquisite temple is dedicated to Swaminarayan, an Indian yogi and spiritual soul who existed during the 18th century. 

Additionally, the height of the temple is 43 meters. Another is constructed of Italian Carrara marble and Rajasthani pink sandstone. Besides Akshardham Temple is the world’s largest comprehensive Hindu temple to the Guinness World Record. Delhi’s Akshardham temple is known for its beauty, unique exhibitions, sprawling campus, and peace.

1. Sahajanand Darshan (Hall of Values)

This exhibition showcases the values and teachings of Bhagwan Swaminarayan through life-size dioramas, robotic figures, and multimedia presentations. It imparts lessons on morality, non-violence, devotion, and service to humanity.

2. Neelkanth Darshan (Giant Screen Film)

A special theatre within the temple complex screens a large-format film that depicts the journey of Neelkanth Varni, the teenage incarnation of Bhagwan Swaminarayan, as he traversed across India.

3. Sanskruti Vihar (Boat Ride)

A 12-minute boat ride takes visitors through 10,000 years of Indian culture, showcasing ancient universities like Takshashila and Nalanda, contributions of Indian sages in various fields, and the grandeur of India’s Vedic civilization.

Water Show – Yagnapurush Kund

Akshardham Mandir Delhi One of the major attractions of Akshardham Mandir is the Yagnapurush Kund, the largest stepwell in the world. Every evening, a mesmerizing water and light show called “Sahaj Anand” takes place, narrating an ancient Hindu story using a blend of lasers, fountains, and projections.

Gardens and Open Spaces

Akshardham Mandir is surrounded by lush gardens and serene landscapes that provide a peaceful retreat for visitors. The key gardens include:
