What's make it special The white room café:

The White Room Café, A great outdoor setting, a sense of privacy away from the crowded church and fast food are the hallmarks of The White Room at The Highgates Hotel. If you've passed this slightly quirky hotel on Church Street a million times, we recommend you finally come, even if you haven't already.

The White House is a hotel cafe with an open space decorated like a white greenhouse. Furniture and interior design celebrate British living. Fake fireplaces, caricatures of British celebrities such as "Her Majesty" and Elton John, many references to the Bard, speakers' "An Introduction" section and old food will scare you.

They're known for their chicken sandwiches and a variety of teas and infusions, but we recommend their chicken breast with mushroom sauce and herbed rice and pasta to be safe, thoughtful and convenient. You can try their open chicken sandwich, spicy potato wedges, spinach and mushroom quiche (if available).

Shall we tell you what we missed? Served with a generous dollop of whipped cream and blueberry jam, scones are the classic Enid Blyton afternoon tea must have to complete the British experience. If you're looking for a break from work or just want to escape the church streets, this restaurant is a great place to relax while eating or having a drink.

Reviews for The White Room Café;

  1. Good breakfast at a restaurant giving international vibes. :-

    The White Room Café-

    We were looking for nice, quiet breakfast places in Central Bangalore for a good sit-down and relaxing meal, and The White Room fit this bill perfectly.

    Located on Church Street, The White Room has a fantastic feel and vibe about it. The interiors are white, the lawns and bushes are very inviting. You almost get an international feel about the place, just by entering the restaurant and being seated for a few minutes. The music played is soft and catchy to add to the overall good vibe.

    Since we had gone for breakfast, we ordered waffles, which are a must have. The chocolate sauce accompanying it was yummy. This was the best item we had. Pancakes with maple syrup were nice. We also had a masala omelets, which was accompanied with 4 slices of bread. The omelets was quite bland (this despite requesting for a spicy omelets), and I thought 4 slices were too many, as they become dry halfway through your meal.

    Though we did not try their signature dish, Huevos Rancheros, I'm sure this would be nice. We also had vanilla tea, which had vanilla aroma and taste coming through nicely. I'm told the lunch and dinner menu is quite nice as well, though breakfast did not disappoint.

    If you're looking for a nice, relaxing meal at a lavish-looking place with an international feel, The White Room won't disappoint you.

  2. The White Room Café-

    Place is nice and cozy with delicious food.Really liked the interiors of the place as well. They have a small menu , however all the options that we tried were really good. Chicken Stroganoff, Slow cooked lamb & Gooey Brownie were really the best.

  3. A hidden gem , brings back nostalgia for the "good old days":
The White Room Café-

The small open air cafe is a part of the High Gates Hotel, tucked away from the noise, on Church Street. The hotel and the cafe both have the colonial architecture and take you back in time. The menu is limited, and the selection available even less so - however more than made up by the taste and the ambience. Pricing is reasonable. The icing on the cake is their own car parking lot !
