About Kakatiya University

Kakatiya University was established on August 19, 1976. With its establishment, a long-held wish of the people of Telangana has come true.

The university started with just four faculties, namely four faculties. Telugu, English, Chemistry and Mathematics were established in 1968 and later the departments of Physics, Botany, Zoology, Commerce and Public Administration were added. The Faculty of Economics he founded in 1974.

The Pharmacy B course was started at Osaka University in 1974 and transferred to our university in 1975. The Graduate Center was granted autonomy in administrative and academic matters by the OU on April 30, 1976. It was finally elevated to Kakatiya University on August 19, 1976.

The university is named after the great Kakatiya dynasty that ruled the region from the 12th century to his 13th century with Warangal as its capital, ensuring political stability, economic prosperity, linguistic and cultural unity .

The university also celebrated its founding anniversary in 2001 with great fanfare.

In 1988, the university's jurisdiction was expanded and there are now 321 universities (171 old state-funded, private, non-funded universities and 66 new universities).

In 2005, there were 48 B.Ed colleges, 14 Pharmacy colleges, 3 Law colleges, 3 Engineering colleges including Kothagudem Engineering College, 11 University PG colleges, 29 colleges in Northern District of Telangana MBA and Karimnapur, There were 32 colleges with MCA in Khammam. Adilabad and Warangal offer a wide range of professional and non-professional courses at undergraduate, postgraduate and research levels.

Currently, the university has postgraduate colleges at Nirmal, Karimnagar, Godavarikani, Subedari (Hanamkonda), Khammam and Kothagudem, in addition to the main campus.
