The construction of the stronghold started during the reign of Hyder Ali and was completed in 1791, during the rule ofThe Great Tipu Sultan. Tipu Sultan Summer Palace, in Bangalore, India, is an example of Indo-Islamic architecture and was the summer residence of the Mysorean ruler Tipu Sultan. Hyder Ali commenced its construction within the walls of the Bangalore Fort, and it was completed during the reign of Tipu Sultan in 1791.
After Tipu Sultan's death in the Fourth Anglo-Mysore War, the British Administration used the palace for its secretariat before moving to Attara Kacheri in 1868. Today the Archaeological Survey of India maintains the palace, which is located at the center of Old Bangalore near the Kalasipalya bus stand, as a tourist spot.
The room on the first floor has been converted into a small museum showcasing the many achievements of Tipu Sultan and his government. There are also new images of people and places from the period. There is a replica of Tipu's tiger in the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. Tipu Sultan clothes and crown were placed on a silver and gold plinth. Also shown were the silverware that the minister gifted to Haydar Ali.
History of Tipu Sultan Summer Palace -
Tipu Sultan summer Palace was built in the Bangalore Fort between 1781 and 1791 under the rule of Mysore ruler Tipu Sultan. Work began in 1781 under the direction and supervision of Hyder Ali and by 1791 the palace was ready. Tipu Sultan used the fort as his summer residence and led his generals from Bangalore. In 1799, after the death of the Mysore ruler during the Fourth Anglo-Mysore War, the palace and fort were captured by the British, who used the palace as a secretariat before moving to Atalakacherry. After independence, this historical monument was handed over to the Archaeological Survey of India.
Architecture of Tipu Sultan Summer Palace

The throne has silver steps decorated with some small tigers. All these items are covered in gold leaf and adorned with stunning gemstones. After Tipu Sultan died in 1799, the British in his palace and throne were torn apart and put up for auction.
Tipu Sultan Summer Palace Museum
A small part of Tipu Sultan Summer Palace has recently been converted into a museum, where many artifacts, antiques and ornaments belonging to Tipu Sultan and his father Hyder Ali are exhibited. The war weapons of the two kings, their clothes and knightly armor, coins, crowns, etc. shows. There are also drawings and portraits of great leaders of bygone eras. The museum also houses Tipu's tiger's original house, the original of which is now housed in the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. Sir Robert Ker Porter's famous oil painting "The Storm of Srirangapatna", painted in 1800, and other rare works are also exhibited here. The memorable photograph shows Tipu Sultan's sons leaving General Baird while the family mourns the death of Tipu Sultan.
